Terms of service

The software is open-source under Apache 2.0. These terms cover the website and any paid services we offer later.

Last updated: 2026-05-18

1. The software (Orbis QA)

Orbis QA is open-source under the Apache License 2.0. The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. See the LICENSE file in the repository for the full text.

You can use Orbis for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial, without paying us. You may modify and redistribute it under the Apache 2.0 terms.

2. The website (orbis.darcode.dev)

The marketing website, including the /api/latest-version endpoint, is provided on a best-effort basis. We make no uptime guarantees; the desktop app handles offline / unreachable update endpoints gracefully.

You agree not to abuse the endpoints (no scraping at a rate that affects other users; no automated probing for security weaknesses without prior written authorization).

3. Bring-your-own-LLM keys

Orbis QA never proxies, stores, or transmits your LLM provider API keys. Your key talks directly to your chosen provider. You are responsible for your own LLM spend. Use the cost cap in Settings → Run to bound it.

4. The sites you test

Orbis drives a real browser against URLs you provide. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to automate those sites. Do not point Orbis at services where automation violates the terms of service of the site being tested.

5. Paid tiers (Pro / Team — when they launch)

Paid subscriptions, when offered, will be governed by a separate subscription agreement linked from this page at launch. Free users keep their install at no charge forever.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orbis QA and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the software or this website. This includes, without limitation, lost profits, lost LLM credits, lost data, or breakages on sites the agent runs against.

7. Changes

We may update these terms over time. Material changes will be announced on the changelog page and reflected in the date at the top of this page.
