FAQ

Common questions

Do I need an internet connection?
Only for your LLM calls and visiting the sites you're testing. Orbis itself runs entirely on your laptop — scenarios, runs, and screenshots stay there.
Who pays for the LLM tokens?
You do, directly to your provider. Orbis never proxies your key. Gemini 2.0 Flash or Anthropic Sonnet are cheap-and-fast defaults; Claude Opus / GPT-5 when you want a tougher planner. A typical scenario costs $0.005–$0.02.
What happens when Pro / Team launch?
Your current install keeps working forever as Free. Paid tiers unlock new features — they don't take anything away.
Will Orbis ever require an account?
Never for the local-first features. Pro / Team's cloud sync and shared libraries need an account, obviously — but the desktop runs offline as long as you want.
Is there an open-source version?
Orbis QA itself is Apache 2.0. The cloud sync + scheduler service that powers Pro / Team will be closed-source.
Refunds?
Pro / Team will offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund window once they ship.
